5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is based on active participation, case studies, teamwork etc. that favors the achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, mainly lectures, problem-based learning, autonomous work, tutorials, and academic guidance.

These teaching and learning activities will be supported by Information and Comunitation Technologies (ICT) when possible.

5.2. Learning tasks

The course includes 6 ECTS organized according to:

  • Lectures (2  ECTS): 20 hours. 
  • Problem-based learning (3 ECTS): 30 hours. 
  • Formative/continuous assesment activities (1 ECTS): 10 hours.

This onsite activities must be completed with:

  • Autonomous work
  • Tutorials

 

 

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

 

Module 1: Instructional Psychology

  1. Introduction to Educational and Instructional Psychology. Cognitive psychology and its implication for instruction. 
  2. Assesment of cognitive variables involved in the learning-teaching process: attention, perception, self-eficacy, attritutions, autonomy, intelligence and knowledge.
  3. Cognitive development, problem solving and critical thinking.
  4. Social learning and constructivism. Consequences for instruction.
  5. Motivation and social relationship problems.

Module 2. Instructional design

  1. Design and assessment of intervention programs in instructional settings
